The bridge of culture, art and gastronomy between Spain and Türkiye

The Spain-Türkiye Cultural Association (Asociación Cultural España y Turquía – ACET) is an independent, non-profit organisation based in Barcelona, established with the aim of strengthening cultural ties between Spain and Türkiye, fostering mutual dialogue, and promoting the rich heritage of both countries internationally.

An essential element of this approach is the recognition of the historical and cultural relations already existing between Türkiye and Spain, as well as the cultural ties connecting Catalonia with these territories, which we consider a solid foundation for moving towards even closer collaboration.

Since the beginning of its activities in 2025, ACET has focused primarily on the fields of arts and culture, as well as gastronomy.

Our mission is to bring together and showcase the diverse and multidimensional cultural heritage of Spain and Türkiye, promoting cultural projects from Catalonia, including exhibitions, festivals, concerts, film screenings, literary gatherings, cooking workshops and gastronomic tastings.

We aim to develop projects that foster interaction between artists, creators, chefs, researchers and cultural professionals, both in Catalonia, Spain and Türkiye, and internationally.

Our vision is to build lasting cultural bridges between Catalonia, Spain and Türkiye, open up new spaces for collaboration for artists and creative industries, share cultural stories through gastronomy, and contribute to the creation of a shared cultural memory.

With an inclusive approach and an international perspective, we aspire to become a meeting point for both cultural professionals and culture enthusiasts. We believe that culture, art and gastronomy are universal bridges that connect people beyond languages and borders.

Through this multidisciplinary approach, which combines art, culture and gastronomy, we work to enrich the cultural life of communities.

ACET organizes creative events in various fields of culture, arts, and gastronomy, while also holding academic gatherings. It works to enhance cultural interaction across Catalonia, Spain, Türkiye and across Europe.

Our areas of activity

• Arts and Cultural Events: We organize concerts, exhibitions, theatre performances, and festivals, bringing together artistic productions from Catalonia, Spain and Türkiye.
• Cinema Events: Through joint film screenings, talks, and student exchange projects focused on academic dialogue, we strengthen cultural exchange.
• Gastronomy Encounters: With culinary workshops, tasting days, traditional food events, and festivals, we create projects that promote Turkish, Catalan and Spanish gastronomic cultures.

• Cinema of Türkiye

“Cinema of Türkiye” is a platform created based on the idea that cinema is not only an effective tool of communication, but also a universal language that brings cultures together.

Within this framework, the Cinema and Academic Meetings planned between Türkiye, Catalonia and Spain aim to strengthen the artistic, professional, and academic relations between the film industries of the two countries.

In addition, from Catalonia, the project contributes to increasing the visibility of contemporary Turkish cinema while supporting research focused on its connections with Catalan and Spanish cinema.
